IMTS 2012 recap:
We met with more of you this year than ever before! Our team was
excited to answer questions about all of the following solutions:
-DNC Communication / Networking of Manufacturing Equipment
-Machine Monitoring / Data Collection
-Job Scheduling / Job Tracking / Capacity Planning
-Preventative Maintenance / CMMS
-Document Control / File Revision / Paperless Manufacturing
-CNC Editing / File Compare / Backplotting
-USB ports, Wireless, Wired and Ethernet to CNC’s
There was strong interest in Scheduling and Machine Monitoring as
well as a surprising attention to Preventative Maintenance. Many
people were also interested in learning more about MT Connect. Our
affiliation and the fact that we had the biggest MT Connect sign
helped us answer many of those questions. Attendees also found the
upcoming mobile solutions useful, allowing them to view and interact
with machines from their phone or tablet. As always, the Haas
simulator was popular as well as the USB connect devices.
There were over 100,000 attendees from 199 countries
and 1,900+ exhibitors. Visitors were treated to a variety
of new technologies and seemed to be looking forward to 2013.
There was still a concern about finding enough trained talent
for shop floors, but hopefully some of our automation solutions will mitigate that.
The weather in Chicago was so perfect that
we almost forgot we weren’t in San Diego!
Our team really enjoyed the visit. JobPack and Scytec
also had a good opportunity to showcase their Job Scheduling.
New Tagline for SFA?
Since we do so much, we have often wondered:
What is the best way to describe ourselves?
Perhaps you can help. What few words will give new
and existing contacts the best understanding of all that we do?
We are thinking about “Manufacturing Systems Integrator”
