New Product Versions Predator Software has released new versions of all their products. Recent releases represented a change in version numbering, featuring the released year as well as version number, for ease of identifying the product release cycles. All new products are supported under Windows 2000, XP and 2003 Server. New product versions:
Note: Please review upgrade procedure before installing! Predator Floating Network Manager This new application installs on any Windows XP, 2000 or 2003 Server and eliminates the need to manage a Predator SIM (dongle) for each PC and to purchase a license for each PC. Only a single SIM is required at the Predator FLM (Floating Network Manager) PC and only the number of simultaneous licenses in use needs to be purchase. There is no minimum purchase required. Many of our clients have a requirement to float the CNC Editor on programming stations and now can accomplish this with the FLM Manager. Predator FLM supports all Predator products. Predator DNC Service Predator DNC/Desktop v7 now includes a DNC Service mode that complements the other two: Administrator and Shop Floor. The advantage of the Predator DNC Service is to allow IT personnel to manage Predator DNC as they do other services. The Predator DNC Service provides operation without a user interface as a true Windows service and requires a solid remote based PXP configuration file. Like all Windows services the Predator DNC Service can run without a logged in window’s user. HTML Connect - can be used with MDC or DNC With the growing number of customers integrating "intra-nets" and web-based solutions within company, Predator has developed a web-based interface to leverage companies to customize a graphic interface using HTML. Customers can create buttons to control, manage, automate, and activate selective activities required to perform tasks on the shop floor by operators and shop personnel. Each interface can be leveraged to work with existing Predator Software products, such as Predator Manufacturing Data Collection and DNC Networking modules, as well as designed for interfacing to third-party MRP/ERP systems. HTML Connect can also be used on PC-based CNC Controls to connect to corporate networks / intra-nets. Predator Tool Tracker - Wireless and Bluetooth Barcode Scanners Predator Tracker supports the latest wireless and Bluetooth bar code readers. This allows the checking in and out of tools to occur without being tethered to the PC. With the reduced error present in bar coding combined with the wireless flexibility of new bar code systems, this new feature positions Predator Tool Tracker as a leading solution for gage and tool inventory management and control. Backup Your PXP Recently, a customer purchased Predator DNC to network 40 of their CNC controls from Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, Yasnac, and Haas with four Flex/N sixteen port serial to Ethernet hubs. Upon completion of the installation onsite, the service technician copied the Predator DNC configuration file (.PXP) on an external USB memory stick and emailed the corporate office in California a copy as well. The IT Department planned on making nightly back-ups of the Predator DNC computer; however they were called for another immediate project and never setup the system to do this. Several weeks later, the PC hard drive crashed and the original system was lost. Fortunately, SFA provided the PXP to the customer within hours and they were back up and running. SFA provides PXP backup services for every customer free of charge. Email a copy of your PXP to SFA today for safe keeping. |
