How to upgrade to Version 7 (2005) or 8 (2008) DNC/Desktop

• Logon to the PC as computer administrator
• Back up configuration file (pxp)
  • Locate your pxp by looking in the title bar of Predator
  • Copy that file to a different location
  • Note: If you do not see the location in the title bar, do a search on your PC for any .PXP.
• Ensure you have version 7 (2005) or 8 (2008) registration codes
  • In Predator DNC, click Help > About Predator and the serial number should begin with "07" or "08"
  • If you do not have updated codes either already in use, or emailed to you, Contact Shop Floor Automations by clicking Here
• Uninstall the current version of Predator DNC and Editor
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs in the control panel
  • Click Predator DNC and Editor and click "Remove"
  • Follow the prompts to allow the software to uninstall completly
• Install the new version
  • Using the upgrade CD or files downloaded off the web, install DNC, Editor and Sentinal Protection

  • You must be logged in with WIndows Administrator Rigths under XP/2000/2003 server
• Register DNC v2005 or v2008 with the upgraded serial number and access codes
  • Launch the "Predator DNC 2005 or v2008 Administrator"
  • If you previously had v7 codes installed, it should launch
  • If you do not have updated codes, Predator will launch to the registration screen. This is where you update to the new codes.
• Move the PXP file to the correct location
  • If your pxp is on a network share or a server, do not move anything
  • If you have the pxp on the local PC, Move the pxp file back into the DNC 7.0 or DNC 8.0 folder under c:\Program Files\Predator Software
  *NOTE* The following steps will need to be done by every user that logs into the PC and uses the software
• Open the PXP file
  • With Predator DNC running, go to the File menu and choose "Open"
  • Browse to your pxp file and open it
• Saving layout
  • Once the pxp file is open and you have your machines, go to the "Options" menu and choose "layout 2"
  • Click the Options menu again and choose "Error Log"
  • Close Predator and reopen and this should default to your pxp and layout settings.
• Testing communications
  • Go through all your machines and attempt to transfer programs in both directions (sending and saving)
