Your company deserves my thanks. In an effort to excel in the automotive market, my employer purchased a 4-axis CNC machine in 2003. For many years this machine suited our needs very well. However, demands for more complex parts and programs virtually made this machine unusable in todays fast paced industry.
After searching all over the internet and reading countless blogs about how RS232 was the way to keep CNC machines linked to a computer network; I was haunted by the thought of miles of cables running all over my shop floor. The average CNC shop does not utilize modern technology; in fact, they connect millions of dollars of equipment and tools to cables I have not seen since a dot-matrix printer.
My problems were answered when I found Shop Floor Automations. I had large files I needed to load onto my machine. Until recently, all the files were small enough to fit on a floppy disk, but when programs exceeded the capacity of a disc I was left with a few options. After speaking with Guy Barrow about using your product on my machine, I felt very optimistic about the product.
Within a week a box arrived at my shop and I was able to install the pendant in less than 2 hours. The instructions were very simple and organized, not to mention that Mr. Barrow called me multiple times to follow-up on my progress. The Pendant mount USB Connect controller pulled my machine out of the dark ages with the lowest cost and easiest user interface. I can load files onto my machine from a USB stick while in front of the controller, the drip feed works very well, and the technical assistance was invaluable.
Thank you Mr. Barrow and thank you Shop Floor Automations for making a clean and easy upgrade that lets shops pick up the pace in this high speed machining race.
